New 'Tech Operators' Angel Network Comprising Multinational Executives Launched
Dublin, Ireland, Tuesday 4th March 2025 — From April 2023 to December 2024, HBAN (Halo Business Angel Network), the leading angel investing network across the island of Ireland, has facilitated over €25 million of angel investment across 82 companies, fueling innovation and growth.
Examples of the startups that have received investments include SQUID Loyalty, GreyScout, Vertigenius, SimpleStudy, TeamFeePay, WiiStream, Precision Sports, Needi and Frontier Academy. These companies span sectors including SaaS, FinTech, E-Commerce, AgTech, GreenTech, and SportsTech.
In addition, the Medtech Syndicate has continued to deploy capital into its portfolio companies including CroiValve, OncoAssure, and Gasgon Medical, while also adding new companies such as Neurobell, X-Bolt, and Endowave. The Medtech Syndicates invested a total of €14.9 million into these pioneering Medical Technology companies.
Adding a deeper layer to its network, HBAN facilitated the launch of 'Tech Operators', a collective of over 30 leaders from multinational companies such as Stripe, Facebook, Salesforce, and Google who invest in, advise and connect ambitious founders.
Founder of Vertigenius, Dr. Dara Meldrum, a Cork-based digital therapy company that raised €2.1 million with significant participation from HBAN investors, shared her experience:

34% of the companies that received investment in this period were led or co-led by women, highlighting the networks championing of diversity.
Over 290 new angel investors have joined HBAN's network since April 2023, demonstrating the growing interest for supporting innovative startups across the Island of Ireland.
